You can significantly extend your bras' lifespan by treating them with the same care you give to your most valued garments.
Heat and rough handling are the fastest ways to break down elastic and distort cups, so wash your bras in cool water, skip the dryer completely, and always air-dry flat.
Rotate your collection and avoid wearing the same bra two days in a row if possible. Everyday bras need washing every 3-4 wears, while sports bras require cleaning after each workout. Hand washing remains the gentlest option, but if you do use a washer, make sure to fasten the hooks and use a mesh lingerie bag on the delicate cycle with mild detergent. Skip fabric softener and bleach entirely, as they coat fibers and weaken the elastic that provides your support and comfort.
Smart storage also protects your bras. Never crush molded cups. Start each new bra on the loosest hook, which allows you to tighten as the band naturally relaxes over months of wear.
