Why do bras ride up when sitting?

Bras sometimes ride up when sitting because of fit issues that become amplified by the natural changes your body undergoes when you transition from standing to seated positions. When you sit, your waist and abdomen circumference increases, your posture shifts, and your spinal curves change, creating additional volume and altered angles that can push a poorly fitted band upward or cause it to roll.

The most common culprit is a band that's too loose. Other contributors include over-tightened straps that pull the back band upward like a seesaw, cups that are too small or the wrong shape for your body, and stretched-out elastic that has lost its ability to maintain proper positioning.

The solution isn't to accept ride-up as inevitable; it's to find a band that stays parallel to the floor whether you're standing at a meeting or seated at your desk, supported by properly adjusted straps and cups that work with your unique shape.
